LE RAGNAIE Brunello di Montalcino 2020

Nestled among the highest vineyards in Montalcino, Le Ragnaie has carved out a reputation for crafting Brunello wines that are both elegant and expressive. Founded in 2003 by Riccardo and Jennifer Campinoti, the estate spans 15 hectares, with vines reaching up to 550 meters above sea level—some of the loftiest in the region. This altitude, combined with organic viticulture and traditional winemaking, gives Le Ragnaie wines their signature finesse and aromatic depth.

The 2020 vintage is a standout example of the estate’s philosophy. A blend of fruit from multiple parcels—including the central high-altitude vineyards, the historic Petroso zone, and the southern Castelnuovo dell’Abate—this Brunello offers a panoramic view of Montalcino’s terroir. The wine spent 36 months in large Slavonian oak casks, allowing for a slow and graceful evolution.

In the glass, the 2020 Brunello opens with wild cherry, pressed blue flowers, and earthy spice, followed by layers of blackcurrant, dried mint, and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is fresh, focused, and mineral-driven, with silky tannins and a long, savory finish. It’s a wine that balances power with precision—classic in style, yet vibrant and modern in its energy.

Whether you're a seasoned Brunello lover or just beginning to explore the region, Le Ragnaie’s 2020 vintage is a must-try. It’s a wine that speaks of place, patience, and passion.

In our tasting, we loved its balance and complexity. It’s fresh, structured, and endlessly engaging—a perfect match for rich, flavorful dishes and a special night.

CARPINETO Farnito Camponibbio Toscana IGT 2017

Since 1967, Carpineto has been a benchmark in Tuscany, crafting wines that marry tradition with innovation. Among its standout labels, the Farnito Camponibbio 2017 captures the essence of a Super Tuscan—bold, refined, and deeply expressive.

This blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot comes from vineyards rooted in sandy clay soils rich with marine fossils, a reminder of Tuscany’s ancient seabed. Careful vinification and oak aging add layers of complexity and elegance.

In the glass, it shows deep ruby hues and aromas of ripe plum, black cherry, and wild berries, lifted by notes of vanilla, clove, and licorice. The palate is full-bodied yet balanced, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, graceful finish.

Perfect with grilled meats, game, or aged cheeses, this wine is ready to enjoy now but will reward a few more years in the cellar. The 2017 Camponibbio is a true statement of Tuscan excellence—powerful, polished, and unforgettable.

In our tasting, what stood out most was the intense yet well-integrated leather note, adding depth and character to the wine. Earthy undertones gave it a profound, powerful presence on the palate. The deep dark-red color in the glass hints at its richness and structure. For a wine of this quality, the price-to-value ratio is truly exceptional—a remarkable find for any wine lover.
